Retirement planning should not feel confusing or disconnected. The Guardian Financial Strategies CLEAR Process organizes the decisions ahead and gives each part of your financial life a defined role.
From our first conversation through ongoing reviews, you will know where you stand, what we are working on, and what comes next.
C - Confirm the Fit
Our first conversation is focused on you.
We discuss where you are today, when you hope to retire, what you want retirement to look like, and identify the areas where you need help.
We then decide together whether working together makes sense. If it does, we move forward in the process. If not, we part as friends.
L - Lay Out the Full Picture
Next, we gather your statements and important documents and complete a detailed fact-finder.
We organize your accounts, benefits, income, expenses, insurance, and other relevant information so we can see how everything fits together and identify what may need attention.
E - Explore the Options
With the facts organized, we analyze your situation, model relevant scenarios, and explore strategies involving retirement income, investments, taxes, Social Security, insurance, healthcare, and estate planning coordination.
The objective is to identify practical options that support the retirement you are working toward.
A - Assess and Activate
We review the recommendations together, including the benefits, drawbacks, costs, and trade-offs of each option.
You will understand what is being recommended, why it may help, and what would change.
Once you are comfortable with the plan, we implement the agreed-upon actions and coordinate the necessary account, investment, and planning changes.
R - Review and Refine
Approximately 90 days after implementation, we meet to confirm that everything is working as anticipated and address any remaining questions.
From there, we review the plan at least annually and more often when appropriate.
As markets, tax rules, goals, or life circumstances change, we refine the strategy so it continues to reflect your needs.
